The Scottish pilgrimage has begun!

Our group members have all arrived safely and the Noreaster did not impact things too much. Today we met and walked to a small loch called St. Margaret's Loch near the base of the climb up to Arthur's Seat. Arthur's seat is an extinct volcanic plug. The loch hosts many types of birds and especially swans. Above rhe edge of the loch is St. Anthony's chapel ruins, what was probably part of a small monastery that may have been devoted to healing and care for those with disease. Great views form this area of Edinburgh and the Firth of Forth waters. We have our kick off dinner tonight and some great places planned to visit tomorrow
