Let’s Get to Know One Another

I have settled into my office and am becoming familiar with the various rooms in the church building. You might notice that I do not have a lot of books on my shelves. You may also notice that I have brought my personal computer with me to the office! I have about 40 years of experience working with computers at Westinghouse and at home, so, I tend to use resources on my computer. I use a Bible and Commentary program called Logos Bible Software as my primary resource, but even computer software cannot replace all the books! So far, I am attending every committee meeting that I can to learn how the Presbyterian Church of Plum Creek operates and to share some of my experience. I am impressed with the dedication of the people who serve on these committees. Please do not take them for granted. Offer them your thanks when you get the opportunity.

Its time now for me to start to get to know you, the members of the Presbyterian Church of Plum Creek. With Covid and now the cold and snow impacting everyone’s ability to come out to church, I have had the opportunity to introduce myself to only a small number of you. Even so, meeting before or after worship offers only a little time to get to know you and for you to get to know me. I will be going through the directory and calling each of the families to try to set up a time when we can meet in a comfortable setting. I am open to meeting in my office at the church, at your home, or even at your favorite coffee or lunch spot. If meeting in person is not possible for any reason, I am happy to have an extended phone or video call with you. My primary objective for these visits is to get to know you better and to learn your stories. Keep in mind that I cannot meet with everyone right away, I still need to attend meetings, prepare for worship, and take care of other business, but I will progress through the directory to try to schedule conversations with all of you.

I am looking forward to getting to know all of you much better! Peace be with you,

Pastor Frank Hancock

BLESSING BOX DONATIONS

Remember to continue bringing donations for our blessing box located in our parking lot by School Road. Our box is being used! During the winter months, we are only stocking it with things that won’t be harmed by freezing. Some of the things we need right now include children’s cereal, instant breakfast, crackers, instant flavored oatmeal, pop tarts, pancake mix, and personal hygiene items.

Other non-perishables are always accepted. Please do not bring expired food. Thanks for supporting this church ministry. You are making a difference.
